Born in Shkodër on the 24
January 1896.
Baptised on the 25 January
1896 Confirmed on the 01 May 1902
from the diocese of Sapa.
He was ordained a priest in
Saluzzo (Italy) on the 12 March 1921.
From elementary school until
he was ordained priest (1908 – 1921) he studied in Piemonte (Italy) in
the college of Scarafizio and Sarzano.
He was in the diocese of Sapa
and of Shkodwr in the Parishes of Mazrrekut, Kodhelit, Dardhës (Puke),
Shllakut, Komanit, Dushi.
From March 1943 he was the
parish priest of Kaçë, Shelqet and Naraç.
He was imprisoned in Shkodër on the 08 December 1946.
He was sentenced to death. He was shot and killed in front of the people
in Shelqet (Shkodër) on the 24 January 1947 at 10am.
Other information: He was
accused as a Catholic priest and because he had studied for many years
in Italy they thought that he was a Vatican spy and told others to
contradict the communists.
In truth because they had
killed one of the chief communists who lived in the parish of Fr. Luigj,
in Shelqet the Communists in revenge arrested Fr. Luigj.
When they announced his death
sentence he proudly said: “I am dying for faith in Christ”.
To carry out his death
sentence they took him from prison in the car and took him to Shelqet.
And there, after gathering the people of the village around, they shot
and killed him along with another man.
Before he was shot he said:
“I am innocent and I am dying for my Faith”.
He was buried in Shelqet
after 45 years on the 19 January 1992.
His family has taken his
remains and accompanied by a large crowd of people, buried him in the
cemetery of Remaj in Shkoder.
