He was sentence to imprisonment in Spaç of Mirdite the 02 January 1927.

He was killed by hanging in Shkodra on the 05 March 1927.

Other information: he was an exemplary priest, calm, gentle and very loving towards all. He shared in the Albanian democratic revolution against the government dictatorship, which was crushed with violence by King Zog. It was organised for him to escape and go abroad, but he preferred to stay in Albania.

He was accused of speaking against the immorality and injustice of King Zog’s government.

They transferred him to Spaç, in the prison in Puke, and from there to Shkodra prison where they tortured him; they tried him and sentenced him to death by hanging.

In front of condemned prisoners and the soldiers, who did not want to go away be made his confession in his mother tongue because Father Martin Gjoka had said so: “ I want my last confession to be in my Mother tongue, that all will hear me…”

So he did, and all the prisoners heard him.

He received pardon and Holy Communion.

His last words were: “ I am dying innocent, Glory be to Christ the King! Long Live the Catholic Church, our Mother! Long Live the Pope our Father! Long Live Albania and the True Albanian!”

He was fearless. The myslim soldiers who were accompanying him recognised that he was innocent.

He was killed in the public Square “ Fusha e druve” (wood field) in Shkodra, in front of a multitude of people.

His remains, which were buried in the Cemetery of Remaj in Shkodra, have always been honoured.
