Baptised in Shkodër on the 04
September 1892
Confirmed on the 03 June 1900
from the diocese of Shkodër.
Priestly ordination in
Shkodër (Albania) on the 29 May 1915.
He studied in the Pontifical
Seminary of Albania and at Innsbruck (Austria).
He was the secretary of the
Archbishop of Shkodër Mons. Lazer Mjeda, later on as a parish priest of
Sheldisë. He was in Switzerland for 15 years.
He was arrested in Sheldi and
imprisoned in Shkodër on the 30 January 1945.
He was sentenced to death in
Shkodër on the 02 February 1945, and when they sent him to Tirana they
sentenced him to death for the second time.
He was shot and killed in
Tirana on the 05 March 1945.
Other information: He was a
very well known author. He was the first priest to be killed by the
communists.
He was crudely and inhumanely
tortured. They broke his legs and when his Mother saw him with broken
legs and suffering she said to the soldiers: “Please kill him, a human
being can’t be left in this condition”.
His body was put in a sack
from which only his disfigured head could be seen, he was thrown in the
pit together with the body of the 80 years old muslim Sulço Bej Bushati
on the next day their bodies where not found.
